Any Recommendations for UK Car Rentals?
Has anyone found any good deals with renting a car at Heathrow airport recently?
I'll need a car for at least a fortnight, but I'm a little wary of paying upfront for a rental car (eg. with a third party such as Expedia, Travelocity etc.) in case I decide to return it earlier if my plans change once I'm in the UK.
(I need to check with Amex but AFAIK they still provide insurance coverage if one pays with a US Gold card? Hopefully that will bring the cost down a bit).

Make sure to check with American Express to see if your Gold Card includes that coverage. The last time I looked, the platinum card does, but the gold card does not unless you pay extra for the coverage in advance. The last time I rented a car, it turned out my particular VISA card had the coverage.

Yes Priceline or www.121carrental.com
Most if not all CCards cover the initial insurance forget what they call it in the UK it does not have to be a gold card.

Try Carhire3000.com, we have used them the past few trips, although Aberdeen not Heathrow.
