Advice desperately needed.
 

Hi Everyone

We are looking to move to the States and are currently bogged down with so much info and ways to go about it. We have got two children 11 and 7, my husband has got his own business in Automotive Engineering and I am currently a qualified Teaching Assistant and have almost completed a honors degree in Education. We have been told that we may have a chance if we invest...
Can anyone please give us an idea which route we would be better pursuing?
We desperately want to move to the States but are unsure of the best options and want to get it right.

Investment visa would get you over here, but as you've got kids, it's a bit shit as they would have to get their own visa's or sod off at 21, like wise if the business goes under, you'd have to sod off and all that.

Best bet would be looking into the L1 if the husbands business is fairly sizable, either that or get a job with a company that could eventually transfer him.

Employment based H1 wouldn't be much fun for you, and you really wouldn't have a hope finding a place this year anyway.

It's pretty much down to what his business is all about, as a teaching assistant wouldn't get you anything I'm afraid.

Hi:

Consult with a competent American Immigration Attorney. There happen to be several in London.

At least one used to post on this board. However, the powers that be are quite selective in enforcing their rules. The London guy said to hell with it and doesn't post. I try to follow the rules, when I violate them I fix my behavior, when the rules are grossly misinterpreted against me, I simply go away for a while, but first say good bye. I note one attorney is allowed to violate the rules with impunity.

Really doesn't bother me all that much, I save my aggravation for CIS and department of state and other agencies of the Dark Forces.

Now there is a term I have used to blank faces, Anoraks.

I used it in a train conetation, turns out the US version is Foamers.
