I don't think many people really stick with one single career path nowadays.

Anyhow I'm 34 and I've worked in at least 4 totally different careers, and I would certainly not rule out trying something different again in the future.

I agree with putting your nationality on the CV if you have had foreign assignments/positions.

I have been getting in touch with recruiters in the UK to get an understanding of what's going on and one of the first questions he asked me was what my nationality was.

I went back to uni in my early 30's to train as a teacher

it was what I always wanted to do but sort of fell into a completely different career (hotel & restaurant management) when I walked out of the sixth form after just a term! If I'd gone to college instead of staying at my school I probably would have gone straight to uni at 18

I would have missed out on so much though, and I'm glad I waited until I did to go to uni

There's a book out called "What Colour is your Parchute" which might give you some kind of idea as to go about changing direction.

http://www.jobhuntersbible.com/articles/wciyp.php

Its worth a read.

I've got nothing but admiration for those brave and financially secure enough to change careers.

I did it 10 years ago and I'd love to do it again. I'm 38 but not in a position to 'start again'

Good Luck!

I'm 35, went back to uni at 34 so I hope it's not too late!!! To be honest, I put off going back for about 4 years partially because I thought I would be too old by the time I finished a degree. In the end, I just had to do it or go insane!

32 is but a youngster! I started my nurse training in my early 30's

Have you ever thought of teaching either IT or English or even primary age!

We have a very 'Mature' english tutor for our daughter and just after 4 lessons I can't believe the difference in her english and confidence, truly amazing.

Good Luck whatever you decide...

Go for it, you're not too old! I went back to Uni to retrain as a podiatrist when I was 30. There was a woman on my course in her 50s who was doing it with the intention of retiring to Portugal and then treating the other expats when she got out there.

Those who went back to university (presumably in the UK?) - are there any grants available to mature students or is this something you need to self-finance?

Instead of thinking of it in terms of age and ability, you have to think of it in terms of reinventing your life to meet your future circumstances.
It's never too late to do this regardless of your age.

By force of circumstance, I had to retrain and learn a new career in my mid 40's. I love my life and job and look forward to a change of career in my 50's because I want to write eventually.
