hi , well i thought id drop into the forum as i rarely get in these days .
just wanted to outline my experiences inregards to returning to the uk after neally 20 years in perth .
Firstly i guess i should say was it the best move for me , yes absolutely it was .I am in touch with my country and its surroundings and enjoy the countryside at every chance i get . i get over to belgium on a regular basis due to my eldest son living there .
From a financial aspect which is important for most i guess when considering a return to anywhere ,my experience has been a tough one and i was in the fortunate position to buy my house outright , but day to day living on a construction workers pay can be hard especially for someone with limited contacts due to being away for so long .
I wouldnt say jobs are plentiful here in the uk but the thing i have found is you start to develop the street smart gene the british are born with and sometimes lose when migrating.
All i can say is i was unhappy for many years in perth , so go for it if its what you want and dont procrastinate to much ,life is way to short .
Finally thanks to all those that supported me a few years ago in a difficult time ,good luck to you all and just always think the glass half full as opposed to half empty inregards to the uk .

Good to hear that things are going well for you KK!
Was down in Lytchett Matravers the other day catching up with friends - beautiful part of the world! So glad that you have fallen on your feet and hope that it long continues!

So delighted for you! You share all the feelings I have and what a relief it is. There's just something deep down inside that feels so right about being back. It's all so exciting and new still.
Congratulations on a successful return home. x
