Up and down like a enthusiastic hooker. Any idea where the dollar is headed over the next month?

Definitely up.

And down.

And up.

And down.

... sorry, couldn't resist it - I'm in the middle of converting USD that have been sitting since 2006 when I came back and the exchange rate was at $2 = £1 .

From years of reading similar posts, I'd say get yourself an account with a decent company like XE.com or forex so you can move quickly when necessary, and then when the exchange rate gives you a decent return, just go ahead and press the button, and doon't look back. You'll only torture yourself if it gets even better after the fact ... and holding on for the "perfect" rate often ends in misery because just when you think you'll hold on a few mor days, it makes a U-turn and before you know it, you are losing 10p on the Aus$ compared to where it was ...

If Yasi hits then I would expect the $ to go down against the pound but what do I know?! Whichever way you look at it, it's bloody fantastic for moving back to UK compared with what it was a couple of years ago.
