Default Assistant Project Manager - Abu Dhabi/Doha

AIS Ltd is a specialist design and construction team that combines project management, building design and the integration of training and simulation for unique military and police facilities internationally. With a global reputation for innovation in design, this international services organisation requires an Assistant Project Manager to join our office in Abu Dhabi to initially assist in projects within the GCC, with a view to progressing to projects worldwide.

The variety and range of workload will be matched only by the scope of opportunities available. Overseas experience as well as work with Military/Police Clients would be beneficial. You will be a Civil Engineer with a degree in either M & E or Construction Management and 3+ years experience in commercial, infrastructure or industrial projects. Both people management & communication skills are a must.

The successful applicant will be responsible for all operations and timely delivery of the projects. You will be responsible for the construction management with an overview of the project from conception to completion. You will be in regular communication with Consultants, Contractors and the management team throughout all stages of the project. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are completed within allocated budgets and be involved in decision making for the same whilst ensuring that all quality standards and regulations are adhered, implementing your creative strategies to streamline and improve existing processes.

The position will initially be based in Abu Dhabi or Doha, reporting to a Senior Project Manager, with an initial posting in Doha for approximately six - twelve months. After this initial placement, short term overseas travel assignments will be a feature of the appointment.

Applications will only be considered from UK/European/North American passport holders.

Hi Andrewpops,

I am keen to know if this position is still available?

I am a British Citizen and have been working for a well known global construction consultancy company in the UK for the past 6 months as an Assistant PM, since graduating with a Masters in Construction Project Management. I am up to date with construction contracts and am currently studying towards PRINCE 2 Foundation qualification. Previous to this I was a Recruitment Consultant in New Zealand.

My Mother, Brother and Sister, live or are relocating to Dubai and Abu Dhabi in the next 3 months so with this and previously working in NZ you can be assured that I will be committed for the long run.

Although I recognise I do not tick all the boxes, there leaves room for development and I am a sharp, focused person, so will learn fast and can add immediate value.

Please get in touch if this or any upcoming opportunities suit my experience, or if perhaps you know of any other respective organisations and I shall forward you my C.V.

I hope to hear off you soon,

Michael Whitworth
