Excuse my ignorance..... What is Zakat?
I am a freelance consultant working through a UAE based agency for an English consultancy company with a Saudi end customer.... So no one is paying anything for me.......

"In the 2nd edition of the Encyclopaedia of Islam it states, "...the prayers of those who do not pay zakat will not be accepted".
So pretty important to those of the faith.

Yep, and pretty convenient having taxation as one of the pillars of a religion isn't it..
