you might want some of the more experienced sand dwellers to confirm it though

have only been in and out twice but have had no hassles with an ipod in my hand luggage. they run your luggage through an x-ray after you've picked up your bags from the carousel but i haven't seen the guards look at the tv screen yet.

Might need a bit of escapism tunage on the plane, so good option to have.

agree with that, wouldn't travel anywhere without mine now and have no reservations coming into the magic kingdom with it. (but then, am still a bit green when it comes to all things saudi, so ignorance is bliss!)

Never seen or heard of anyone with a problem. Not to say it'll never happen, but...
I wouldn't keep any porn on it, though

I'm in and out of Saudi most days and have never had a problem with my ipod or laptop nor heard of anyone else so don't worry.

The only trouble I had in 5 years of travelling in and out of the Magic Kingdom was on arrival at Dammam. Got pulled aside as the customs guy pulled DVD's and CD's at random out of the CD case I was carrying in hold luggage.

Remind's me of the first time I went to Saudi. On the firms advice I removed the Marks and Spenced labels from my drawers, even cut the Levis badges off my jeans!
I flew on BA with a local sitting beside me getting blind drunk and me with only 1 G & T the whole flight, him busy telling me that I can't do this in his country.

Channel 1 = Koran readings
Channel 2 = History of Islam (reading by famous Islamic scholar)
Channel 3 = A discussion about mosque architecture in the 17th century
Channel 4..................... etc etc......................

even better you can watch the arrow pointing to mecca while the sour stewardesses ply you with orange juice
