Are any of you guys working 5.5 or 6 days a week? I have signed up for 5.5 days a week with a half day on Sat, but im still here!!
Nobody has left the office yet and its 3pm!

Is 5.5 or 6 days the norm here (for expats)? going by how quiet the roads were this morning im thinking its not?

most of us work 5 days, sun to thurs, no way I'd work anymore,

they used to do more. If its in your contract then get yourself home!

i know quite a few people in the construction industry who work 6 days a week, or alternate between 5 days one week and 6 the next...

5.5 days is quite common in the building game - and is tacitly accepted as 5.8 ish - ie you're off a few hours early on a saturday. Of the (admitedly few) people i know who have left well paid jobs in construction to go to other ************* - the 5 day week has been the reason.

Its all rather strange during Ramadan. If you leave about 3pm during normal working hours, its not so bad. During Ramadan, however, you should be leaving much earlier. My hubby used to work six days a week in Saudi but only five days a week here.
