Excellent post - unfortunately a lot of people come out without a plan b and burn their bridges at home too. I've lost track of the times I have been told "this is my home now"

Disagree.
Its too f.cuking hot to go out in the sun, hence no sun cream needed. Only go out at night. Like a vampire.
Speaking of which - what's your favourite vampire film? Mine's The Lost Boys? Maybe another Poll thread needed.

Hi all, I'm new to these boards, just trying to find a job overseas that might help me get out of the financial hole I'm in at the moment, I'm 49 & hold a US Journeyman's Electrical licence, was over the for 18 years, came back to educate the kids here! Have heard a lot about Dubai, good & bad, but one thing I have learned is that there are still decent paying jobs overseas if you can find the right contact, after all what you know is important but who you know is everything Thanks in advance.

Hi Victor, I agree with you, but I can only keep trying & see what happens, I'm sure there are good companies over there that want good quality English speaking Electricians, not knocking the competition. Thanks for the reply.
