Default Working from Home

Our US office has implemented working from home. We are doing this by rotation with half the staff in the office at any given time, i.e. we all work alternative days. We can also elect to go 100% working from home if you wish, and especially if you are over 60 (backdoor way of getting rid of the oldies).

UAE has yet to follow but I'm sure we will by Sunday. Going to be a long summer.

What is everyone else doing?

We are trialling WfH - I'm in today's wave. Gradually will roll out once all the systems are believed to be sufficiently working.

As Dilbert said, when working from home do you owe the company a full 8 hours of work or just the hour and a half you would have done had you come in to the office?

EMEA-wide roll out of training and 'test days' going on at the moment.

I'm going to work from home tomorrow. Bought a monitor for this exact reason at the weekend.
Pushing for HR to make it mandatory. The Mrs is off school, could play 9 holes minimum every morning, could be hungover any day you fancy, could continue our spring cleaning and decluttering easily and generally spend more time with her.
I only do a few hours work a day, I'm just really efficient and don't do things I don't need to do.

The confirmed case at Index Tower last night was enough to close us down. Working from home until further notice.

As I see it, we won't come back from this for 3 months, then it's summer - so basically September.

Given Dilbert's ethical question and time differences, I can do my 1.5 hours late afternoon (5-7pm). So basically I'm free all day. I'm currently considering doing a skydiving course.

Serious chatter from HR. Meetings being booked and more prep emails arrived about Teams etc.

Just offered the HR BP a coffee, when she replies I'll make her buy me a coffee and tell the goss.

My daughter in law and couple of my mates in DIFC just had their offices closed and everyone WFH. Happened this lunchtime (Sunday).

Day 3 and I'm back at the desk after yesterday's relegation to the dining table. About to go on a call and they insist we are on camera - just seen my hair. I'm ****ed.

Technical issues. They should know that all non-essential personal hygiene is off the list of activities by now.

Teams works well. We just had a team meeting with 20+ folk on it for over an our and the quality was great, content not so much.

I'm on my..... 14th day of working from home. Initially we were told we could work from home if we wanted but late last week we were told we must work from home unless impossible.

Can see this going on for at least another 4 weeks if not 8.
