Depends on the company, though I believe Saudi still rocks the Saturday to Wednesday week.

Re: working days
That's what the company i'm dealing with says. Does that mean both Thursday and friday off. But they say one paid 8 hour rest day on friday. What about thursday? is it a day off as well?

Re: working days
core days are saturday to wednesday but some companies work every thursday, every other thursday, half day every thursday or half day every other thursday. if you get both thursday and friday off every week consider yourself lucky...

Re: working days
"48 hrs per week. Saturday through Wednesday and one paid 8 hour rest day on Friday."
Doesn't say anything about Thursday.
How do I interpret this?

Re: working days
no idea, but sounds like you're working thursday as well dude since 6 days at 8 hours each day is 48 hours per week. that's shit! unless you're in an industry where this is the norm (and you get compensated for it) i would have serious concerns about taking the job. 1 day off a week is not enough for me at least. it would annoy the hell out of me..

Re: working days
I'd say Thursday doesn't exist.... ignore it. Figment of imagination. Stay in bed if need be. (Maybe ask them what they mean?)

It also says Saturday-Tuesday 10hours, wednesday 8 hours.
So I assume Thursday is off. The statement of one paid 9 hour rest day on Friday confuses me.
Obviously I've sent them a note asking for clarification

Re: working days
this was also the first sign that i would have many disagreements and misunderstandings during my time in saudi. i also discovered quickly that it meant sweet fc.kall having something in writing as they would just say that what it said was not what they meant and that there was no chance they would do it. i don't know if all companies are like this, but mine was certainly full of total bell-ends who made me happy to resign at the most opportune time for me (which happily was the worst possible time for company)..

Re: working days
why don't you ask the company for some clarity rather than speculating? I'm sure they can clear this up in a matter of seconds-- just call me a genius

ah okay so there is more info. well there you go then. you've done the right thing by asking for clarification. i did the same when i first went to saudi, then i got the clarification which i didn't understand and after many attempts gave up trying to understand.

that's the thing kc. they either write it confusing to have the power to do whatever they want as it makes no sense or they just cannot speak or write english properly. i never actually figured out completely which of the two it is although i lean towards the latter option..if so the clarification is going to be equally difficult to understand..
