Working at Amazon UAE
Hi everyone,
I'm UK based and have finalised my last round of interviews with Amazon and I'm expecting an offer. Just wondering if anyone has experience or info about working at AWS in Dubai? I'm likely to be placed at L6 and have no clue how they structure the package in there. Globally it's a basic salary + sing-off (for two years) + RSU or shares however in GCC there are other components like annual flights, school assistance, health insurance that doesn't come within the offered salary but is a given. Any info about their school assistance, in particular, would be a lot of help because this is the biggest expenditure for me with 3 kids of school ages.

Same package structure, base/bonus/rsu. Although you will receive fewer shares compared to an employee in a tax paying country as RSU vests tax free.
You get 25k AED per child for upto 3 children. However, that won’t cover half for most British schools here. It’s about 45-60k per year for primary, 50-100k for secondary. That’s just the fees, doesn’t include food, transport or any extra curricular activities. So factor that into your budget. Three kids is gonna be pricey but certainly doable.
Feel free to DM me for more info.

Also, don't forget that with three kids you're going to be paying 400 per dependent per month so that's another 1600 a month, or 18,200 a year. This needs to be paid up front before iqamas are issued.
Your company may pay something towards this or they may not.
