I am a new guy in Dubai and was wondering does anybody know is there any Wine tasting/socializing courses or classes going on?

No idea on regular courses however you would enjoy http://www.tasteofdubaifestival.com/ I believe Spugsy(fellow bored member) enjoyed the whisky tasting they have there. If you attend you might find some class info there

oo if you google wine tasting dubai lots come up- I don't know if they are just an excuse to get legless but guess there is only one way to find out! Enjoy!

MMI arranges the odd event if you are a member of their wine society. Various of the top end hotels have wine or spirit tasting events, but you'd need to sign up to their mailing lists to be notified as they are not heavily advertised.

Don't forget to get an alcohol licence to partake legally.

Go to a bar, order a glass of wine..taste it, mention to the people next to you that it is a lovely glass of wine. Order a different wine..discuss with various other people..repeat until you have had enough wine.

Alternatively, drive to Barracuda, order two bottles of (say) twenty different wines, go home, invite your neighbours over and proceed with the wine tasting, preferably accompanied by some good cheese.
