I'm in construction but thankfully at the moment I'm told there's plenty on for me. Just gonna ride it out for the next 12 to 18 months now.

any chance of posting the results? or even starting a wiki? i'm sure the opinions and options will change as the months go on, but it may help as a starting point?

I think this is a great idea and would like to invite anyone in Abu Dhabi who is a similar situation to join us at my networking group this Tuesday for after work drinks at the Sheraton Khalidiya and I'll ask them all to help out with things like passing out CVs etc.
We're meeting in 3rd Avenue from 6:30pm onwards.

im not knocking it, but does anyone actually know of any positions that are vacant?
I mean, you can sit around and spout off about all your numerous contacts, but if nobody is taking on anyone, its a bit of a waste of time, no?
In this current climate, do you think there are employers sitting around struggling because they have positions that they cannot fill?
I hope so, but seriously doubt it.

Just spoke to a friend whose husband is the MD of one of the International Movers here and she said hubbys company is very busy, with new people coming in and not out
