where to live in Doha
Hi, thinking of moving to Doha, we have a question about where to look for a place to live:
- we are a family of three with a daughter aged 8 - my husband will work at the education city (he is an academic in computer science) - I'll look for a job when I'm there and when my daughter has settled well with school and so on - we like to live in a quiet place, possibly where other families live - we hate commuting for long.... do you think it is better to stay close to the University? Is it a good place? or is it better to stay downtown? thanks |

Re: where to live in Doha
Thanks a lot
we are evaluating a number of schools, my husband will come to Doha next week for the final interview and he will also visit the schools. We were wondering whether to choose the school also considering where it is better to live, but as far as I understand, we will have to choose where to live according where there is a place free in a school. Right? thanks, Primula |

Al Wabb is one of the most popular areas with families as it is close to Villaggio Mall and Aspire Park and has some schools and nurseries close by. There are lots of compounds in this area and some standalone villas also.

Re: where to live in Doha
There is no place "quiet" in Doha, and if it is, then it won't be for long - but the thick concrete walls, double glazing and constant hummm of the aircon mean that you get deaf to the constant traffic, diggers and heavy machinery noise.:)
