Where do you get car parts round here?
 

Possibly an odd question coming from someone who's been here nearly three years, but our Jeep's now out of warranty, and I'm sure I can fix some things quicker and cheaper than Trading Enterprises...

So what's the nearest UAE equivalent to Halfords? If I want new bulbs or wipers or stuff like that, where do I go? Ace Hardware?

Or does it require a trip to (gulp) Sharjah?

Sharjah or the main dealer as far as I am aware. I have got a telephone number for a British Mechanic if you need any help. Also send a PM to Buzz Lightyear, he owns a FANTASTIC garage that I used to send my 4x4 to all the time. Very reasonable too!

We'll probably keep taking it back to Trading Enterprises for its scheduled servicing; I was just thinking more about the small things that need replacing every so often, like bulbs and wipers. Obviously, in the UK you don't have to trouble the main dealer, you just go to Halfords!

yeah true, I took mine to Buzz for servicing for two years, half the price of Toyota. Got a new one now though that is under warranty, once that is finished it will be back to Buzz for the once over. :)

Getting back to the thread :rolleyes: there is an auto accessory shop opening up in Times Square "soon". Yellow Hat or something, on the left as you go through the main entrance. I don't know if they are just going to sell body kits and nitrous injection for the local boys or if they will do boring stuff like bulbs and wipers as well but it might be worth a try.
