where do I get a lab coat from?

My son is studying Chemistry A level and has been asked to get a lab coat - trouble is, we get the uniform from Zaks (green community) but they dont do lab coats! Can any one please let me know where to get one from?

Many thanks

Does it have to meet any requirements or can it just be the bog standard item?

Most of those shops specialising in safety gear will sell basic ones but if they have to wear it for long periods so it may be worth looking around on-line to find something with a nice cut, breathable lining, good length and plenty of pockets (the latter being most important, you really do need 20+ pockets sometimes!). Even I had to get one off the interweb :D

Normally just an old shirt will suffice. Depends whether they need the lab coat to keep chemicals off them, or just stop general spills. Shirts will not protect against conc HCl etc, but then again a lab coat wont either. SOmewhere like Carrefour sell lovely tabbard type outfits you could buy. Your son would be so pleased with that!
I would have thought if the school told him he needed one, they would sell them embroided with the school logo. Charging you twice as much as a normal one.

Not that I'm cynical about the schools over here...................
