Where can I get a block of scrap wood?

Where can I get a block of scrap wood?
I need an old offcut of 2x4 or something to go between my jack and the oil pan in my Jeep when I change the engine mounts... anyone know where I can pick one up? Any woodworking places in Al Quoz that will let me have a rummage through their offcuts?

yes, take a drive around the area, I found a couple of places that let me have a rummage.

Just go to any construction site in Dubai , 99% of them are not working , you'll probably get a tower crane as well...!
