Dear Mr CD - where is Saniya?
Mr Irich:
Tristar have a strange business approach. They only keep Kak-strol. They used to keep Motorex (Swiss) which is quite good but not the best, but even at 90SAR a liter (which is crazy) I would have bought it.
HD have an oil called Screaming Eagle which states no spec conformity so I did not buy it.
So I am forced to use Castrol (which I despise) but as it is winter here I will live with it until I can import some proper Motul.
I have a Dry Clutch - BMTroubleyou because silly Yamaha would not import a bike for me after numerous requests. So I could use Ferrari Oil or Porsche oil - that's my next action.
Boy, when the oil runs out these folks are in for a wake-up.
Many thanks

Castrol will be fine if you change the oil out every 1000 miles though. I use it in the Ducati.

I have never heard that one - the comply with API specs. The reason car oil should not be used in a wet-clutch bike is the friction modifiers that cause the clutch to potentially slip - I say potentially because I know a lad who (shudder) puts mineral car oil in an R1 and rides its nutts off and the R1 is fine - probably more a tribute to Yamaha than anything.
Anyway, my 2004 R1200GS is as close to a car as any bike could be.
And FYI the BMW dealer is selling ordinary Auto Castrol GTX, not the 4T...
And my poor old BMW has done 86,000km and 6 Saudi Summers on it, religiously changed every 10,000km and ridden like it was stolen...
I go down to the car service area on Oruba Rd and get Castrol for 13 SAR and it is exactly the same as that in Tristar.
But at the end of winter I will use proper Motul 300V Chrono.
