What are internet speeds and reliability like in Qatar? Do most residential compounds have fibre?

I was there in 2007 and 2008 and they were pretty fast. Try to get the usual ADSL home fixed line connection. You will need to wait till you sort out all your ID cards, visas etc, prior to getting the account set up, but the building or compound may already have wifi installed from the owner. Qatar is quite well connected..

Thank you Debowing, that sounds positive. I may have to consider internet school for some of my kids for a while, so I hoping net speeds can support a good videocam connection.

speed will be fine - video services may be blocked.

Even the lowest package will be luxury for us... we are currently limping by on, at best, 3Mbps downloads speeds!
