IT/Web jobs in Dubai

I'm aware of the Dubai Internet City, and done lots of searching; but can't seem to find any recruitment sites, or companies actively recruiting for web developers, etc in Dubai.

I was initially thinking of sending CVs to 30 or so companies, but my research inidicates that a majority of the companies I've found online are 1 man bands or small companies. Which is what I want to try and avoid if possible.

What is the best route to find web job roles in Dubai? Is there a reputable recruitment agent that you'd recommend?

Many thanks.

a friend of mine got interviews with hp microshaft and cisco before she settled on another company out there... but did it solely through networking. i'll speak to her when she gets back and find out if she has any contacts still.

Thank you for your help! :)

I've checked some sites online, but I've noticed there are quite a few scam sites out there *cough* (jobsindubai).

I've also tried looking online versions of Dubai newspapers, but for some reason only a few have posted any vacancies online -- it seems that searching for appointments online isn't as big as say in the UK.

I've got a big yellow book called "Dubai residents guide" or something, whilst it has tons in it, I'm finding it difficult to get a hitlist, or get clarification on the best route forward.

Perhaps just going over there for a short stay and going around the houses is the best way?

Anyway, thank you for your help.
