Walking in Dubai

Re: Walking in Dubai
whilst on a map it may look like walking distance, it isn't always the case. The fact that there are no pavements doesn't really help and pedestrians here are often knocked over and killed. Try and organise some sort of car lift thing with a colleague once you get settled.

yes there are a few villas around Media City area but the waiting lists are huge for them. There aren't any apartment blocks nearby that I can think off. Best to wait and get here then drive around and take a closer look. Walking here really isn't safe unless you are on one the developments that has pavements!

There's the Tamani Tower, which opened fairly recently opposite the Mina Seyahi on the junction with Al Sufouh Road. Just cross that road that runs to IC5 and you're in Media City.
I'd say that the handful of tower blocks right on the north-eastern edge of the Marina are walkable for DMC/DIC, but only because they're so close. And it'd still be a bugger once the humidity kicks in (which seems to be happening already).
