Visit to Dubai from Oman...Son Visa?

My son has dual British/Thai citizenship and we will be travelling to Dubai for a few days on a short visit. My wife and son both have Thai passports and their Omani residence visas are stamped in their Thai passports. I know I would need to arrange a UAE visa for my wife. Would I also need to apply for a UAE visa for my son too, or could he enter Dubai with his UK passport?

This info is mainly for the re-entry period to be more than one month, in our case we do not plan to re-enter within a month in any case.
We just like to go for a short visit to Dubai, to take the family for a bit of shopping...
