Visas for UAE
Is the retina scan still part of the process for acquiring the residency/ work visas for the UAE? I did a "runner" from my AD-based company-of-death a couple of years back and I'm wondering if that's basically going to destroy my chances of working there in the future. I'm a dual national, so entering on a different passport should not be problematic, but the retinas don't lie, as far as I know....
Thoughts appreciated. Cheers. |

Re: Visas for UAE
Perhaps I should clarify. I've done nothing illegal here- I just left without my company's permission, and didn't get my visa cancelled, which used to be a black-list offense. Can't remember if that was 2 or 3 years, does anyone know?
I've been back to the UAE twice on the same country's passport (albeit a renewed one, with no un-cancelled visa in it) with no problems at all. Just want to be clear if the airport retina scan is still part of everyone's work permit application? I had mine done at AUH airport the first time I arrived, if memory serves. |
Re: Visas for UAE
well you could be blacklisted and they would still arrest you at the airport for not following proper procedure etc. i know they use the scans at ad airport and they have caught quite a few maids etc trying to sneak back in but i wouldnt want to try it.
