Hi Everyone

My husband is coming to the end of his 60 days (having renewed at Immigration once) so we need to plan a visa run for him, his 60 days runs out next Tuesday 28th Jan.

So, I was wondering if anyone is planning a visa run from Abu Dhabi around that time? We don't have a car yet, so I have looked into hiring a car but if someone else is already going and we can pay towards the costs that would be ever so much easier!

Otherwise, if anyone knows of a bus service from Abu Dhabi to the Oman border please do let me know! I have read through previous posts on here, and also googled it, but can only find one from Dubai.

doubt there is a bus doing it best to hire the car but remember tho you must have permission from the hire car company and pay extra for the insurance.

Worth googling the up-to-date border run process (and it is no doubt somewhere on this forum, but check you are looking at recent postings) - at a couple of the border posts it is another 20-40km to the Omani immigration post, so worth choosing your crossing point carefully. We went across 2 weekends ago (not a border run, just for a day in Oman) and were told to our surprise that one can no longer just waive your resident's visa and have lunch in Buraimi, but now have to officially enter and exit Oman, which added a good hour to our overall trip. Apparently the rules changed a few months ago.

fly with flydubai on a day trip - not that expensive

that way you can bring back duty free as well
