Default Visa Flights

Hi!

My visa runs out on Thursday and hubby has just confirmed that he cannot take the time off work to drive to Oman boarder...

I have heard that there are special visa flights has anyone actually gone on any? I dont want to get lost somewhere during the transit flight!
Any recommendations of flight companies ....not the one that crashed please!

Also I have been in and out the country all year and dont want them to stop me which is why i cannot get another 30day extension on my visa.

My marriage cert has been sent away to be attested as we didnt marry in the uk! So cannot get my visa processed. ..........Help I dont want to live in the Uk its cold............

And yes i have read the previous boards but they are not up to date and cannot find find anyone that has actually been.

there are travel agents who will take you to Oman and back by bus for about AED 400... I have seen the posters in shop windows in Bur Dubai. I'm sure there are equivalent deals from AD...

...and there you were last week singing the praises of a UK based summer.

I am sure you will be Ok. A lot of the knowledgeable ones here are confident that it only applies to 'certain' nationalities.

I did a visa run to Oman at the Hatta border and it was fine. I left first thing on the Friday morning, took me about an hour and 20 mins to get there and then about half hour to go in do a u turn and back out. Stayed the night at the hatta fort hotel. You should check it out if you go it's really nice.

Only thing is though i only had my visa extended once and that was my only visa run so i'm not sure how they would be if you been in and out a few times as i did hear they were cracking down on this.

I dont have a choice cant get my visa in time. My wedding cert has to be sent to Mexican embassy for translation etc.

I have no transport Hubby too busy to take me to the boarder so Abu Dhabi airport is the only option.

Have been to hatta Fort before. It poured down with the rain the whole two days we were there. We were trapped in one of the little chalets with a nice view of wet rocks and mist. The staff had showercaps, umbrellas and wellingtons. We had to order room service to avoid the 4 inches of water.

I've done the turn-around flight from Abu Dhabi to Muscat on BA (though I did it for miles, not visa reasons).

You can print both boarding passes before you even leave for the airport. Fly to Muscat, skip the visa line, head through flight connections, wave the boarding pass at the guard, go through security and you're back in the departures lounge. Dead easy.

Kish - think thats more a place for non-european expats to go though. where they need to stay a few nights whilst visa's are being processed
