Visa ban??

Does someone automatically get a ban by the Ministry of Labour when they change jobs within a year and are not based in a freezone or moving to a freezone?

yes I think that is the case, but things keep changing all the time. There is a good site on gulfnews.com, use essentials there might be something on there that will help.

yes, definately, if you are moving within the same ministry then you do get a 6 month 'ban'. This happened to me.

All it means thou is that your new employer cannot process your new visa for 6 months.

the word 'ban' i find quite misleading and confusing

It all depends on your employer - not the ministry.

If you do get a ban it can be bought out by your new employer.

Leave on good terms and you will not be banned.

Yes,that person will most probably get a ban,and that is due to the wrath of the Ministry...The reason behind this is that the Ministry has better things to do than to reorganize the paperwork just because someone changed their mind within a short time span...

I beg to differ...But,there are cases which people CAN get away without getting a ban,due to "supernatural forces"...

Not sure, I would imagine it will be fine, just get new passport when you get here. But does your passport not have to be valid for as long as your visa??

Thanks for the tips everyone. A friend of mine recently left a company after 8 months and the Ministry of Labour advised her that as she did not see out her 12 months she would face a 6 month ban but if a fee of 5,000 is paid then this can be waived.

Arroath Abroad - so i take it you just have to do visa runs every 60 days? What about your driving licence, does not have a residency visa affect this? Thanks.

I had a driving license and was doing visa runs, not sure what would have happened if there had been an accident, but then the car was in husband's name anyway and he had a visa?

i think you are mistaken on that one, it is the ministry NOT the employer, as i left on really good terms with my company (they still have a job for me) but their hands were tied
