Visa Assistance

Hi there - are there any ex Rhodesians now living in the UAE who have had to get either education certificates or marriage certificate issued in Rhodesia attested? My hubby is already in the UAE and trying to get my visa arranged and as I will be arriving there on a one way ticket (provided for by his company) I will need a visa I believe. Hubby's HR head has said that I need our marriage certificate attested but I don't know how this is going to be possible with it being issued in Rhodesia. Any help much appreciated.

Thanks

I came across quite a few from Rhodesi/Zimbabwe in ME. Must be possible.

You could check out on sites like this. The Rhodesain Diaspora is widespread. I worked on the Northern side of the border and was there during the "Chimurenga".

Can the Zimbabwe Embassy in London (assume you are in UK?) not certify it? Our overseas embassies in any country are able to provide an attestation to government issued documents such as birth & marriage certificates.

Have not had any luck with the embassy - cant get past first base!! Looks like we may have to get married again in the UAE!! Good excuse for a party:)

I believ getting married in UAE is a fairly simple procedure. It is in KSA - but no one outside seems to recognise the validity of the papers !
