No, but then I don't recall that being the point at issue. The UK is supposedly a very violent place, but despite working in London for 15 years and often coming home from work late at night, I felt no more concerned for my own safety there than I do here.
I was just pointing out that Dubai's reputation as a crime- and violence-free place is due more to good information control than anything else. The prisons here are heaving, and not just with fat alcoholic fraudsters.
I know lots of people would prefer to live in their fluffy little expat bubble, but why deny the reality of life here?

Add AR, JI, the Greens, Green Community, Umm Suqiem, Al Safa and - yes - that holy-of-holies itself - Jumeirah.
So what's your problem with the reality of life here being pointed out to those who probably only ever cross the Creek to get to the airport?
I'm in Deira - I see real life here.

Yep, absolutely. Lived here nearly three years, never once been there. Amazing, that. You wouldn't think it possible, would you?
Ahem.
Lots of locals, yes, but it's also heaving with expats. It's where they go if they can't find anywhere in Jumeirah but have a big enough housing allowance not to have to slum it in Al Safa.

and surely Deira, Karama and Satwa are also heaving with expats. Just expats from different locations!

Who said I had a problem with it? I just don't understand why some people are negative about everything.

So never been to Umm Sequim, but think you are an expert on it. Amazing that.
