The usual mystery - UAE National Day
So... another so called holiday is approaching - anyone know what the "official" line on this is?
Will there be an offical private sector holiday on the Thurs or the Sat or will it be up to the company's discretion...

Circular No. 06/ 2005
The Company's official holiday to celebrate National Day will be on Friday 2nd December 2005. Since it is falling on a weekend, the company will grant Saturday 3rd December 2005 as a day off to all staff in accordance with Employment Regulation No. C3-8.
All Administrative offices will remain closed on this day.
Staff are reminded that in accordance with the company regulations, an employee who is absent from duty without permission on the day or days before or after a public/ religious holiday, may forfeit pay for the holiday as well as the unauthorised absence. All other conditions relevant to public holidays, overtime and time-off in lieu are contained in the Employment Regulations Manual Section C3-8.
Please note, this holiday is only applicable to Emirates Group offices based in the UAE and for information purposes only for all other Emirates offices.

Will this have any impact on bar opening times?
There will be around 30,000 people looking for somewhere to down a few on Friday night

shouldn't have any effect on the bars as it is a national Holiday not a religious holiday.
I got the Sat off aswell, working for a private company
