Hi there,
I've recently moved to Saudi, Riyadh and I'm seven and half months pregnant. I'm really confused as to which hospital to book my pregnancy in. Also the lack of spoken English by hospital staff members makes it very frustrating when doing research.

Which hospital would you recommend in Riyadh ? I would really like to have a natural birth as I have done so with my one year old in the UK.

I have a friend who works as a midwive in the lady of lourdes hospital in Riyadh. She says it can be ok as the majority of royals come in there so i assume its a little more civilised. She did mention that "everyone" gets c-sections though and she is really just a nurse. I dont know if this is by request or not though

Thank you for your replies. After much research I have decided to go with Specialized medical hospital as they are suppose to be a great hospital with many english speaking staff

6 hours passed between panic and then with the help of "much research" you have gone with one hospital.

I'm glad that it is "suppose" to be a great hospital.

Just for the sake of others in your unusual predicament - what other hospitals did your "research" highlight as alternatives?

Dunno about Riyadh but my youngest daughter (12 years old this month) was born in Ghassan Pharaon in Jeddah. C-Section is indeed standard !

I have heard that the private Saudi British hospital, is a good one with modern facilties for maternity needs.

Its more to the fact to keep there ahem parts intact. Crude i know but i dont know how else to word it

Also vaginaplasty is huge over there

More to do with the fact they worry there husband will prefer the other wives
