Default Urgent maid visa question

We have a maid who is part way through the process to residency - we've changed her visit visa to employment visa and need to get medical test done for the full residency visa.

Since I now don't have a job and only a couple of months to find one before getting kicked out myself, we're not going to go through with this.

Does anyone know if we can extend her current stay for a few weeks to give her a chance to find a new job - the current 60 days for the employment visa are up in a week?

The DNRD helpline were no help at all. Three different "official" answers given from three people I spoke to: "no idea", "take her to airport and put her on a plane this week latest" or "she will revert to visit visa and have 30 days".

Anyone had experience of this?

I wouldnt rely on the "unhelpful" helplines here.

Go there yourself, take her with you and sort it out at the DNRD located just before World Trade R/A. Take all her papers and yours... and take plenty of money for admin fees.

Thats what I would do in your situation.

Good luck,

Inv.

Our maid was leaving for a short holiday 4 days after her initial visa ran out. We were told she can either pay 25 Dhs per day late at the airport or through our employer we could obtain a document from the immigration people for Dhs20 in total and not pay at the airport. My wife handled it so I don't know the detail, but it worked.
