Unmarried in Dubai, living separately - is it an issue?

Hi, sorry for the age old question but it's about being unmarried in Dubai.
My boyfriend and I are teachers who have got jobs at the same school in Dubai starting later this year. We applied together but have been given separate accommodation which we are completely OK with because of the legal side of it. However, reading some of the threads has got me slightly concerned - will it still be an issue in school if any colleagues know we are a couple even though we don't live with each other? For example, when we arrive together from the UK or to work?
I'm not sure where the issue would be but I don't want to offend anyone or get into any trouble but now I'm really concerned by the idea of it.
Any advice would be really appreciated, especially from those who've been in a similar situation!
Thanks.

It is illegal to cohabit in Dubai but many thousands of couples do without any problems.

No issue with being a couple, especially if living separately. Just avoid PDAs in public. As Mikwot says many couple do cohabit and don't have a problem but it is best to be aware of the law.
