Understanding holiday.....
 

Hi there

Just noticed on another thread that someone said that holiday allowance includes weekends. Does anyone know if this is the case in KSA? In other words a holiday allowance of 30 days would actually net just over 4 weeks rather than 6 weeks....!!

Best to clarify with your prospective employer, but if you are on a local contract with a local company then the default is that annual leave spanning a weekend results in the weekend itself counting as annual leave.

The logic is that you did not work the full working week leading up the weekend, so did not 'earn' your weekend off work.

For example, you could use your 30 days to take 12 days + 12 days + 5 days to get 5 full working weeks off with weekends either side, as long as you work a week in between each leave period. Leaving you with one day left that you can take anytime except the last working day of the week!

Some Government organisations also limit Annual Leave to three blocks per year, which further complicates matters.
