UK VAT on services...
Just out of interest, can we get VAT reimbursed on goods and/or services bought in the UK?

yep, but you need to have the good with you when you claim at the airport so it's a bit of a pain...worth it though...

As a private individual, you can only claim back on goods purchased *if you meet the requirements* (booklet in the post), but unfortunately, this doesn't apply to services (like consultancy, builder's work, etc...) unless you are claiming as a company.
Still, as you say, it could be worth it!
