UAE visas for family visits

Quick and hopefully easy question for those in the know.

Due to start in Abu Dhabi before the summer and want the family to come over for the UK school hols (I know the weather will be against us).

Understand the tourist visa is 30 days. Expect them to be here for 45 days. How does one circumvent this? Have heard talk of visa runs, but that is in conjunction with rearrangement of return flights etc?

Alternatively would it be feasible to set family up with residency visa whilst they are still in UK and whilst we get established / find school vacancies etc.

Am new to this place. Grateful for any thoughts you may have.

you can do a visa run to get them another month, if they are coming out permanently then why not get them their residency visa's whilst they are here for the 45 days?

Blue Cat,

Thanks I may just do that. The issue is precisely when they come permanently and what do do for those periods when they are not permanent but here beyond the 30 days. Is it cheaper to set up permanent residency than do 2 visa runs for example?
