UAE Travel Advice!
Do people/tourists take travel advice seriously? This one has been issued by the Aussie government - probably old, but I just saw it today. If recent, then do you think this will affect tourism here?
United Arab Emirates overall
This Advice is current for Wednesday, 21 February 2007.
Exercise caution High degree of caution
This advice has been reviewed and reissued. It contains new information in the Summary and on Local Laws (demonstrations illegal). The overall level of the advice has not changed.
Summary
We advise you to exercise a high degree of caution in the United Arab Emirates because of the high threat of terrorist attack.
We continue to receive reports that terrorists are planning attacks against Western interests in the United Arab Emirates. Commercial and public areas frequented by Westerners are possible terrorist targets.

No, I don't think tourists pay any attention to those advisories, or even know they exist! The UK has had a similar UAE travel advisory out for years.
Regardless of the level of perceived threat, tourists only get put off going to popular holiday destinations when an event happens that makes news.
