UAE exit procedures

Hello all,

I am leaving the UAE and my resident visa was just cancelled by the employer. I left the company in good standing. They are now holding my passport for the PRO to bring to the airport, leaving in 2 days, well within the 30 day limit.

Do I need anything else? I don't have outstanding loans or a credit card balance. A note from the bank perhaps?

Advice is greatly appreciated.

thanks.

Have you negotiated for a "no-objection" letter from your employer, should you decide to return ??

nothing else needed. they will just take you to the DNATA desk to give you something to hand to immigration. they then collect it a few hours later as proof you have left the country.

a lot of companies do it once they have cancelled your visa. as they have big problems if they don't get the DNATA token.

I had huge problems getting my passport back when I left my first company in Dubai. British Consulate were no help.

when I left my second company they gave me my passport back as soon as the visa had been cancelled and I just met one of their drivers at the airport so he could collect the DNATA token. My wife was supposed to be picked up by her employer at home and taken to the airport where she would get her passport. But the driver had already been to the airport and just gave the passport back to her so he didnt have to go again.
