UAE CNIA Security Check---- Anyone in the know?
 

Hi Guys,

This question has been asked in another on going thread but I think its only read by a few nowadays.

I'm in the very final stages of getting out to Abu Dhabi (I hope). This next step is the CNIA Security Check. Ive been assured by HR that this process will take weeks ( 3- 4 Max ) but I'm not so sure. I've read some horror stories on some less reputable Expat Forums about it taking up to 6 months.

My question is does anyone know how long the process usually takes? Or even better, has anybody had to go through the process themselves and how long did it take?

Any help in this matter would be much appreciated, if I know I'm in for a long wait I can handle it, but being told it will take weeks only for it to take many months would drive me insane :frown:

if it's anything like how long they take to issue truck passes, 3-4 MONTHS could be more likely! I would be surprised if it was 3-4 weeks.

Anything from 3 weeks to 3 months, though mostly about 4-6 weeks. And there is no discernible reason we have ever identified why some people take so much longer than others.

Thanks for the info.

On the form I filled out it only asks where were you born and when, and the same for my parents and brother and their occupations and any countries you've visited.

With everyone in my family being British born and bred I can't see it taking as long as people who were born in certain other countries and have parents from countries that are a security risk. Hopefully it'll just be straight forward, but the again.........
