Truth about Khobar

Just needing a little more info about family life and general safety / security for a husband and wife with a 2yr old boy living in Khobar and Saudi in General. Considering an offer of a position and although been researching a lot, I wanted a few more opinions / experiences. What is compound life really like?

Compound life is fine.
No dress code for women.
Adapt and things are OK.
