Question Trees for our Garden!!

Hiya all

A question for all you keen gardeners out there... We have recently moved into the Springs, however our back garden is quite overlooked and I would like to plant some (cheap) trees/tall shrubs along our back wall to gives us a little privacy, also the villa we look onto doesn't seem to know how to keep their balcony clutter free and it's a bit of an eyesore.

So, any ideas? I would love to plant a palm, but heard they are bloody expensive :scared:

Cheers in advance...

Yeah sorry about that...and the nude dressing by the window as well.

Erm palms are expensive - but you should be contacted by a gardener pretty soon who will be able to tell you how expensive.

Alternative go look around the Dubai Garden Centre on SZR. They have a large selection of trees and it will give you an idea of price.

Hi Zannie,

If you want the gap filled up really fast I would advise Oleander shrubs (Nerium oleander). They come in all colors, smell nice and you can prun them back to near ground level if it becomes to wild. The more you prun? The thicker they get.

Eucalypts are cheap (try Garden Centre on Sheikh Zayed Road) - they will grow into quite big trees eventually. Possibly too big.

How did that lead to a neighbourly dispute...I'm intrigued.

Was he half on your property and half on someone elses and you wanted the leg?
