Training Contracts in Dubai?
Hi all,
I have recently started working for a property development company's legal department as a Paralegal in Dubai, and note that a member of the team has been offered a training contract. I thought that previously in the UAE that training contracts were not offered??
Does anyone have any idea where i can start looking for training contracts, as i note from my colleagues that they are now being offered at a law firm's discretion - is this correct?
With regards to background information, I have completed my LLB Law degree in the UK, and also my Legal Practise Course, but found it near impossible to get a training contract back in the UK, hence my move to Dubai!
Any help would be most useful!

good luck finding a TC. I couldnt find one with the type of firm I wanted so I quit and went back to my old industry.
I guess if you do a TC here you will have to do the Transfer Test to work as a solicitor back home.

Hi, Have you managed to find out any further information on TCs in the UAE? I'm in a similar situation except I haven't yet done my LPC but I'm doing it part-time distance learning so thought I'd look into any possibilities of getting a training contract at the same time. Doubtful...asking for a lot in one go...but my mother always told me "shy bairns get nowt"!!!

Re: Training Contracts in Dubai?
:Hello I am new to the forum. I came across your posting whilst searching on Wiki. I am a paralegal from the UK looking to relocate to Dubai. I have a law degree and have completed the Legal Practice Course. I did not know that English law graduates can undertake training contracts in Dubai. Does this mean that once a person has undergone their trainng contract in Dubai they will be qualified as an "English" qualified lawyer? Can you please explain?
I have over 2 years residential/commercial property experience. Can you please tell me what is the state of play with regard to finding a paralegal job in this field? Do you have to speak Arabic?
Many thanks for your assistance
