Trade Licence
Alas, my MBA did not prepare me for the minefield that is UAE Trade Licencing, so I wondered if any of you guys have any knowledge that could help me with this scenario...
Fred wants to sell Gumbo Beans in Dubai. Fred does not have a General Trading Licence. However, Fred’s friend, George, does have a General Trading Licence and is legally allowed to import Beans. George has offered to have Fred’s Gumbo Beans tested and registered with the Municipality, for a fee. George has also offered to import Fred’s Gumbo Beans and send directly to Fred’s customers. Again, for a fee. Beyond this, George will not have any contact with Fred’s customers. Fred will do all marketing, etc. himself.
My question is, can Fred do this under a Freezone Licence, as a ‘Gumbo Bean Consultant’?
Would welcome any input. Thanks.

Re: Trade Licence
Thanks Patsy and Auto. It looks like I, I mean 'Fred', will effectively be outsourcing the importation. I think that will work.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Depends on where the customers are. Are they in Jebel Ali or in Dubai? or in AbuDhabi?

Ha, I have no idea what a mungo bean is, but it was always used as an example on my course.
