The Top Ten places in Riyadh
Hello Folks
I wonder if someone could help me out. I have a position starting in Riyadh and I've asked the Saudi co to fix me up with a compound and use some wasta to get me the keys to the door!
Could you possibly list the top ten compounds so I might specifically have them target them.
I'm prepared to take lesser standard accommodation in a better compound than a villa in a mixed / less-western standard compound.
Appreciate any help list you can offer up.
Cheers

What are you looking for within the compound???
Gym Tennis , Pool, or just some where to rest your head after a long day at work.
Also where will you be working (which area) as the traffic here is crazy .
Its a waste of time me telling you x y or even z compound unless you know where you are going to be working .
The traffic here as i said is crazy and in the main peak hours it can tke at least 45 mins to get any where.

Basically, somewhere where my Mrs can make some friends and has freedom of movement. Also need a large pool and shops, restaurant etc.
I will be working at
Olaya, 0021 Building,
Riyadh 12214-2430
Thank for the info - much appreciated

Ok that rules my small compound out then.
Olaya is a very long street / road.
I did post a list of most of the compounds
on the wilki last year.
I think some likes of Arabian homes could be usefull for you.
But they are at the top end of the price bracket.
I would down load Goggle earth and print off my list of compounds
and try and come up with some thing nearer to your work.
But Olaya is a long road.

The first 4 are on the wrong end of town for you.
Arabian homes is right smack in the middle of town.
The rest are out on the ring road which can be about 25 mins driving but in peak hours !!! eeemmmmmmm yes could be more than double that.
If you dont mind driving and taking your life in your hands some days then you 'll be fine.
I saw a really nice car smash on the Eastern ring road this morning.
