Default Too hot for big dogs in Doha?

My husband and I are due to move to Doha in Feb with work and I am unsure whether our dog will cope with the heat out there. He is a big labradoodle and is nearly 8. Anyone moved to Doha with a big dog like this? Also, are there people who offer dog walking services during the day? Or is it simply too hot to take him out in the day? Any comments or experiences would be greatly appreciated. It would break my heart if he couldn't come with us but don't want to take him if its not the best thing for him.

When I lived in Doha, I had a long haired Alsatian. It's not an ideal place for dogs, the locals being awkward and petrefied by dogs, but walking your dog in the early morning and late afternoon makes it viable. My dog lived in Kuwait and Oman as well as Qatar, so it is not a case of abandoning your beloved pet. It's not perfect, but it is possible to work around the problems, and dealing with such problems, in my book were a price worth paying compared to the alternative. It is a whole new world, but it's not entirely alien.

There's a lot of expats here with big dogs . As already stated apart from Western expats everybody is shit scared of dogs here and some of them like to eat them .

Just adapt to the weather and plus there's great vets and organizations such as http://www.qaws.org/index2.php and http://www.qatarvet.com/HOME.html

Just dont get on a compound with Korean or Filipino neighbors

Hey! Koreans make great pet trainers. They'll teach you how to wok your dog.
