2 passport photos and a letter from employer allowing you to drive.

When you get to Madinat Khalifa paperwork filled out in arabic by the lads in the typewriter room followed by eye test. Last thing take a ticket and wait.

Some of the process has moved to the new facility over the road but i think you still have to go over to the old place for the eye test. I'm not sure though. If you PM me i have a number of one of the typewrite guys who can help you out.

I'm working out here as freelance as my company isn't registered yet, so can't act as a sponsor. Forgot my international driving licence so need to get a temp one. Is there any way around the letter from your employer?

Don't need a letter from your employer if you are here on a tourist visa, but if on business visa you might be stuck having to get the letter. Also, they won't issue a temp visa if the paperwork for your RP has been submitted already so I'd advise getting one before the paperwork is done.
