teaching in uae with criminal record from uk

I have a record from 2003 here in the uk . i am now a maths teacher and would like to live and work in abu dhabi . Will this past record prevent me from teaching in uae ? thank you

Highly unlikely as it's spent (I assume it wasn't for anything relating to kiddy-fiddling), go for it.

Thanks for that bud. Absolutely not for messing with kids at all. Until now , 2 recruitment agencies have told me it will stop me from teaching in uae , which is in contrast from what you’ve said . I am beginning to think i should apply to the schools direct ?

It depends what the conviction is for, but generally speaking yes I think it will cause an issue.

I assume you have told the recruiting agencies the details. If they have told you it's a no-go, that is a big red flag. They would know if people got bounced during the clearance phase.
