Default Stumped over package in Dubai...

Hi everyone

I am moving to Dubai in Feb 05 to run a management consulting firm. It would be a small set up with only three people in the first year. Tell me what is the ideal salary for a family of four (husband / wife / two kids; one 7 and other 3). I would be concluding my negoit with the owners of the firm so wanted to know what is a good package in dubai. I would basically get a straight up salary (no housing allownce / education allowance ) but i would get private medical insurance for my family apart from the salary. So can someone throw a figure at me? what should be the ballpark salary figure i should try to get my employers to agree upon in Dubai?

Cheers

Thats a tricky one, I doubt if anyone will post in case they pitch you in too high and you dont get the job, or quote a figure too low and it doesnt meet your expectations.

Very hard one to answer.... might be an idea to try for the dental insurance as well.

Are you being paid in the DHS or GBP. Or a mixture of the two. TS might have a good view and answer to this one.

Schooling - approx 10k AED per term
Housing - 3 bed villa 100k, 3 bed aptment 90K AED
Municipality tax...10% of rent
Cars 50% uk prices
Petrol v cheap so doesn't figure
insurance 5% car value per annum

elec and water in a villa....average 1500 aed per month
in an apartment maybe 200 aed per month

food etcetera..if u shop around similar to uk prices maybe a tad more
work for the wife...mainly low pay

So a fair salary is anyones guess....with one kid at school and one soon to go I would personally be looking for 500K AED a year minimum

merry xmas
