Hi all,

I'm just wondering what the best thing to do about sorting my visa. I arrived in Abu Dhabi recently and have been border running to prolong my stay here. My wife is teaching here. I've been looking for work for the past 3 months and nothing had come up until DAMAC came calling recently. I've read all the stories from 2008/2009 on this forum but desperation has forced my hand.
For example, if I was laid off by DAMAC after a few months, would there be any difference in my situation if either they sorted by work visa out for me or if my wife sponsored me? Also, if I find another job in a few months while working for DAMAC would either visa situation hinder me in getting that job?

if your wife is a teacher she can sponsor you, only certain professions can do that. you are best to stay on your wife sponsorship as you wont be banned if anything was to happen you can swap and change etc. the only issue would be that usually being on a local contract wont be paid the same amount etc.
